Netflix has recently announced its official return on the platform with the release of Season 9 after almost one year of being offline.
Netflix has been streaming “Suits” in the United States since the summer of 2023. However, the series didn’t initially include the complete collection, with Season 9 notably absent. But there’s good news! At the ATX Festival, it was revealed that Season 9 will finally join Netflix US in July 2024.
In May 2023, What’s on Netflix announced that Netflix US would buy multiple seasons of the well-liked USA Network series. Originally, all “Suits” seasons were expected to come onboard but it was on June 17th that season one up to eight were actually added. From the time this series was introduced on Netflix US till now, it always places as one of the top ten most watched shows. Globally, it maintained a position for four weeks in the top ten charts and it still does according to the Netflix E.”

Why is Suits Season 9 not on added Netflix?
The fact that Suits Season 9 is missing from Netflix has everything to do with prior rights agreements, which it has with Prime Video. Netflix did not have any rights over this show until they bought it out; previously it could only ever be found on Prime Video or Peacock platforms. Despite having purchased 1st through 8th season; for some reasons we do not yet understand; its 9th installment was still exclusive property of Prime Video when the first 8 left in July 2023. It is most likely due to this contract that Netflix cannot air the latest season while Prime Video holds its license only.After seasons 1-8 left Prime Video in July 2023, Season 9 is expected to depart as well; and Netflix TUDUM has further confirmed its arrival on July 1st, 2024.
How much longer will Suits be available on Netflix US?
“Because Netflix holds only a show license, it makes people wonder if they can watch it. According to What’s on Netflix, the deal Netflix struck to acquire the show is set to last for two years. This means the program will still be on their platform until at least July 1st, 2025 (the same day season 9 premieres!). Universal Television and Netflix will sit down once again when time elapses to discuss another agreement. Remember that this deadline applies to other regions like U.K on Netflix also.”
