Netflix has a fascinating sci-fi movie entitled “The Signal” that generates an intriguing, but unfamiliar sensation. There is a female astronaut called Paula who hears a terrifying sound coming from the deepest part of space. This startling signal destroys her perceptions of reality on earth at present. She is clueless about what she has heard or its significance, nevertheless determined to unearth its meaning using every means possible.

Main Plot of “The Signal” on Netflix
Sven and their daughter Charlie are left worrying at the gate about the return of Paula in the midst of her absence, only for them not to find it. Amidst the ensuing confusion, Sven tries to cover Charlie’s eyes, holding on to any sign of hope he can find. All of a sudden, it appears that there could be some chance left after all: Paula left behind an indication for him to trace her, like breadcrumbs.
As he goes deeper, his life dissolves, making things more mysterious, and those concerning him, Charlie, and the world itself more serious. No one else but Paula; she was in space where she discovered— or did she?— something profound inside its darkness.

Commenting on a sci-fi mystery without giving away any spoilers can be difficult, but nevertheless here is a general review. Primarily, brevity serves as the series’ plus side; low expectations implies low stakes.

The introduction was good, and maintained suspense such that it was immersive, and executed well in bringing out a feel of mystery. Apart from that, the acting was great. But there is one major problem – I hated how it ended.

I believe it currently has not achieved its full potential and may gain that by including more science, yet maintaining excitement as well as fiction.However, I recommend look at this movie without revealing too much about it since its IMDb rating of 6/10 truly captures its value. Eventually, it is up to you whether or not to take the plunge.
