My Dad the Bounty Hunter sci-fi animated adventure series concludes its journey after two seasons spanning 19 episodes.

My Dad The Bounty Hunter” became available on Netflix in February 2023 after which the second batch of episodes was released that same year. With stunning visuals coming from Netflix Animation as well as French studio Dwarf Animation, it boasts of an ensemble vocal mix stressing characters Priah Ferguson Laz Alonso and Yvonne Orji Yvette Nicole Brown Thando Thabethe also in the ensemble while Keith David, Tim Meadows, Ralph Ineson as well as Chelsea Peretti do their part too.
Through email correspondence, Everett Downing Jr. revealed that Netflix had decided not to proceed with a third season of “My Dad The Bounty Hunter” despite their love for the show and its good viewership performance. Downing Jr. worked with Patrick Harbin in developing the show ‘My Dad The Bounty Hunter’ and also worked with Netflix on the 2021 animated series ‘We The People’. Furthermore, he was co-director on the Oscar-winning animated short ‘Hair Love.’
Working with the team of skilled people was appreciated by Downing Jr. as he spoke about Netflix’s refusal to go on with the third season. He talked about all those characters we cannot forget about since they were so real implying that in future one might still want to come back to that world.

“My Dad The Bounty Hunter” will not be renewed for another season, this is despite good ratings and quality acting. Nonetheless it managed to hit the top 10 for a week in the world in 2023 at 7.3 million hours tuned in for its second season. The show enjoyed a total of 112.9 million viewing hours over two seasons which is equal to about 27 million views all over the world. While it might not have reached the heights of children’s favourites such as CoComelon or Gabby’s Dollhouse, it made ripples across more than sixty nations.
