By 2024, the production of a new comedy by the producer of The Office and Parks and Recreation will be in full swing.

Michael Schur and Ted Danson are joining forces for a fresh comedy series titled “A Classic Spy.” This adaptation of the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent,” which just wrapped filming, promises an exciting venture. Here’s the lowdown on what we know so far:
Famous for his contributions to successful shows like ‘Parks and Recreation’ and ‘The Good Place,’ Michael Schur has become the creative force behind ‘A Classic Spy’ (previously called ‘A Man on the Inside’). Having written and run it, this is Schur’s second big project on Netflix after the animation series dubbed Q-Force. It is important to note that “The Good Place” too was a Netflix Original internationally.

The “A Classic Spy” series led by Schur and Danson through an intense auction between online platforms until Netflix won its rights. For Schur, it is the first work of his own production company called Fremulon that only came up after he signed up for a big and long term contract with Universal Television.
What’s the Mystery ‘A Classic Spy’:
In the Chile movie, The Mole Agent, a cameraman goes to look for something that was not easy to get. The private investigator Rómulo gives the elderly man Sergio a job by asking to live in a nursing home. Why? It was to check whether people living there are being mistreated. Nonetheless what was supposed to be Sergio’s duty in the story turned into a touching tale of making friends with old people and revealing their secrets.
Maite Alberdi directed this popular documentary which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 2021. The same year, it became Chile’s entry into the Best International Feature Film category.
