‘Glass Heart’ Netflix Japanese Drama: All You Need to Know

Netflix is currently in production for the adaptation of Wakagi Mo’s novel ‘Glass Heart’.

The main character of the movie will be Satoh Takeru, and it is directed by Wakagi Mio, so it is still being produced and Netflix will likely release it on 2025.

Introduction of ‘Glass Heart’

Akane Saijo dreams of being a drummer and her life is thrown into disarray when she is asked to leave the music group she has been playing with. Naoki Fujitani is an adept musician who creates an opportunity for Akane to join his new group. These three are joined by a talented guitarist: a mute who can teleport and creates a powerful illusion through their hands waving around like fiery flames that mimic sound waves.

However, neither knows that they share a secret among themselves. Will they be able to make peace with themselves and unite as one team? ‘Glass heart’ is an engaging Netflix drama series that interweaves together three main themes; music, love for somebody without even knowing who he/she really is inside of themself (hidden identity) or vice versa; real person behind a fake name (storyline enriched by not revealing a person’s true self).

Story-line of ‘Glass Heart’

Maki is a charismatic bartender with a mysterious past who operates in the vibrant nightlife of Tokyo. During the day she is busy preparing fine drinks. In the late hours she sits and listens to Tokyo’s movers and shakers who tell her all their secrets making her their confidant. Her obsession for her nightly routine is kindled by their secrets, which keep her up every night as they put forward a well-organized appearance. But when Hiro appears at her bar they fall into a deep intimacy.

Hiro—on the other hand—keeps a dangerous secret; the more this secret gets revealed by Maki, the more the line between compassion and trickery blurs to her. She suddenly understood that you cannot play with fire; its impact may sometimes consume you, thereby making one come into contact with his/her hidden issues coupled with the price associated with obsession.
