It was an obvious choice to renew the German TV show ‘Crooks’ that made a tremendous impact on the international top 10 earlier in the year.
Netflix Germany has announced that ‘Crooks’, its crime drama, will have a second season. The series which was first aired on April 4th 2024 consists of eight episodes and received critical acclaim for its representation of warring rival gangs fighting over an irreplaceable coin.
The show’s run was extended on X/Twitter accompanied by a video (see below) announcing that it was coming back but without any information about when.
Indications of Positivity: A good start was made by Season 1 which rated highly on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for Non-English TV in several regions. This presents huge viewership and
renewal possibilities. Usual Waiting Period: It takes some time before Netflix finally makes a decision on whether to renew the show.

In both Germany and worldwide Crooks exceptionally performed, as shown by official Netflix top 10 lists and FlixPatrol data. Crooks remained on the non-English TV shows list for four weeks with 87.40 million hours watched hence approximately 12,30 million views.
According to FlixPatrol, the show consistently ranked in the daily top 10 lists across at least 84 countries. Some of the highest-performing countries include:

What Can Expect From Netflix Renews ‘Crooks’ for Season 2
Season 3 of the story is expected to start immediately after the first season cliffhanger, picking up from where it left off. Remember that coin that was stolen, Joseph’s injury, pursuing gangs and Charly as well Hassan’s daring escape? These unresolved storylines might get more depth in the forthcoming season
Exploration of the Coin’s Legacy: The coin that started conflict come season1 will probably still be very important. It’s history, significance to enemy groups and tension of retrieving it will all be unveiled to the audience.
