One Piece’ Season 3 Hasn’t Been Renewed Yet

Lately the word on the street is that Netflix has renewed its show for the 3rd time following some kind of confirmation by a One Piece actor while the same is not true of course.

Introduction:

During a discussion on the upcoming seasons with Bruce Crossey on What’s Popping!, Braashad Mayweather, who played Patty in the show’s first season, let on that, “We’ll see if they flash back to its because they’re filming two seasons – season two and three – back to back starting soon. So we’ll see what happens” (Mayweather).

The responses to the snippet from the interview were big on social media and a few websites. Notably, an online source that has over 1.5 million fans re-posted it widely; the post has however been deleted without reason. Later, there was also an article published by ComicBook.com about what had happened although they eventually came back and added more information to their piece. Also, there are channels in Japan who know about it.

One Piece is not shooting is second and third seasons consecutively. We were informed by Netflix that the second season of the show is all that exists so far without a third season currently being shot. They cited the clarification made by Darth (X aka _FireClaw_), that Braashad Mayweather only made a speculative comment during an interview.

Mayweather also made it clear that his statements were misunderstood in later remarks. Responding to DiscussingFilm, Mayweather said “THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL. WHO’S TO SAY I’M EVEN IN PART 2,” and then wrote (with typos corrected), “Way out of context. I’m sure the next 10 seasons will be filmed in South Africa. Have I seen them? No, but there are hundreds of One Piece episodes to film.”
