Netflix, Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix, and Legendary Television are collaborating to release an exciting new cartoon based on the well-known video game series, Tomb Raider. The animation is set for an October 2024 launch, and the co-production looks encouraging for many fans.
Ever since Tomb Raider appeared in the games industry back in the mid-90s, it has been regarded as a major brand name in the world of computer games, making itself one of the foremost franchises in that era. Despite there being 17 other games already out there, with speculations rife that there might just be another sequel coming soon, the series still holds players spellbound. Just think about it: two years from now will be the 30th anniversary of Tomb Raider, a reminder filled with nostalgia about this much-loved franchise being there forever. The screens have been graced with three films all derived from video game saga. Angelina Jolie’s portrayals are among these which are Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Cradle of Life. Another has been premiered in 2018 starring Alicia Vikander while its Warner Brothers are currently crafting its sequel. The much anticipated anime series first appeared during the Netflix’s DROP-01 event in September 2023.
