Raw numbers can fool. Therefore, comparing the viewership of Dead Boy Detectives for its initial seven days with other Netflix Originals (green-checked for renewed, red for cancelled, and yellow for pending), we can clearly see that DBD is placed at the bottom most part of the viewership scale.

Dead Boy Detectives can now be measured against other shows in this category; what is more is that it has not been successful unlike other series. This makes us wonder if it would survive; for instance, Lockwood & Co. had done better than Dead Boy Detectives after the first week. It is also falling way below other major cancellations such as Warrior Nun Season 2 and First Kill.

Netflix is going to feature Dead Boy Detectives at its Upfront in May 15, 2024. Therefore, there is a silver lining in the cloud.

Despite all the new terrible updates, there is one piece of good news: The Sandman’s second season will still be coming out in 2025 as planned. There could be chances of seeing the Dead Boys in the next series.
